End of Spring 2-week 1

Date: 26th Feb 2022 @ 7:55am

We had a lovely first week back in school.
We were learning all about Jesus going to the wedding in Cana.
The children learnt all about the symbols of weddings and talked about how people dress for weddings all over the world.

Throughout the week the children took turns to dress up and pretend that they were at a wedding. We made natural confetti by using hole punches and scissors to cut up leaves and petals.
Yesterday we set up the classroom for a wedding ceremony. The children took turns to act out what would happen. We listened to traditional wedding music and then we all went outside to throw the confetti.

The children had a wonderful time and we celebrated the wedding during snack time.

The children were able to talk about the difference between the wedding Jesus went to and weddings we might go to today. They were able to say that Jesus helped at the wedding when he turned the water into wine. We discussed that this was called a miracle.

Also this week we have thought a lot about the weather. We have seen many changes over the week and have talked about keeping safe when it is very windy etc.

Next week is Shrove Tuesday/Pancake day & St David's day. We will be celebrating both events. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and we will receive ashes in our classroom. We will talk about being kind during Lent and will make a promise to help and be good, just like Jesus.

Take care and have a lovely weekend
