Spring - end of week 4

Date: 29th Jan 2022 @ 7:33am

Hello

As usual here in Reception there was a lot of learning going on.
We have continued to use The Tiger Who Came to Tea, this week we made Get well cards for the tiger. We came in to school one morning and we found a note from the tiger to say that he had a tummy ache as he had eaten too many cakes. We talked about healthy food what he could eat,  and also whether a real tiger would eat cakes.
We have been finding out about Chinese New Year and which animals it was when the children were born. We will be changing our home area into a Chinese restaurant next week.

We have continued to think about what makes people happy or sad, and we made masks with a happy/sad side. We have talked a lot about emotions and what you can do if you are sad. The children have played out in our learning garden and I have been impressed with how they are trying to make each other happy when they play together.

As you will have seen from the school emails, we continue to have cases of Covid in school and in our class. We encourage you to test your children and keep them at home if they are unwell.

The children's reading books are due back in school on Monday- please ensure that you return them, then they can be kept in school for a couple of days isolation before going out to another family.

Have a lovely weekend
