Summer 2 - end of week 2

Date: 17th Jun 2022 @ 3:50pm

Wow! What a beautiful sunny end to our week. Please ensure that on hot sunny days that your child has sun cream on and brings a hat to wear. We will refill their water bottles throughout the day to make sure that they are hydrated.

Well done to all the children who received certificates for their work and behaviour this week.

Last week we started our new school topics - In RE we are thinking about The Church and how we are all members of God's family and we go to church to show this. The children have all drawn pictures of themselves and we all painted a large church to go on our classroom display.

We are also thinking about The Seaside - what we see there, and what we mnight need to take with us if we went there.

We are coming to the end of the Reception year now and at the moment I am assessing all the children and getting them ready for year 1.

Please can I remind you all that reading is so important. We ask that you read as much as possible with your child and also that you sign their reading record. You reading to your child will also help them to develop a love of reading and how great it is.

The children are also practising their writing daily. I expect them to write their own name and try to spell words that they can also read. We are now writing short sentences in our phonics lessons.

In Maths the children are working on remembering 2 numbers that add up to 10 (5+5. 6+4. 7+3. 8+2 etc)

The more that you practise all of these things at home, the better your child will do and be ready to start year 1.

Have a lovely weekend.
