Autumn 2 - end of week 5

Date: 4th Dec 2021 @ 10:13am

We had an exciting and snowy start to the week. On Monday we went out into our learning garden to explore the snow. We counted how many footprints we had made and looked for animals in the snow. I had hidden animals that are typically found in the snowy areas of the world.

Then, as the snow quickly disappeared, we made fake snow inside the classroom. This was an amazing Science experiment. The children had a great time making the mixture. We then had a tray of fake snow and a tray of sand. We sorted the animals into where they would live, and talked about their colouring and camouflage. So much learning took place. The children made lists of the animals and drew their favourites.

At the end of the week , and now that it is December, we have started to talk about Christmas. We will be learning all about the first Christmas and why we celebrate over the next two weeks.

We are learning some Christmas songs and we hope to share them with you. I will confirm as soon as possible whether this will be in person or via a video (due to Covid restrictions). As you can imagine, we need to keep everyone safe.

Have a lovely weekend
