Summer 1- end of week 2
Date: 7th May 2022 @ 12:14pm
Week two has flown by. We've been busy as usual in reception.
During the week we celebrated Eid and learnt about some Muslim traditions. We thought more about how after Easter we celebrate new life and new beginnings. We have been looking at how the plants and seeds in the garden area are growing and thinking about what is growing in the school plot to plate project.
In maths the children have been trying to find as many ways as they can to make 10. They are practising writing their numbers and thinking about using the symbols + and =
The new phonics groups are working very well and all children are being challenged to learn as many of the letters and sounds as they can and to blend the sounds into words. I am so proud of their efforts in lessons.
We have continued with our theme of Space and have watched astronauts reading books whilst in space. The children have been building rockets and pretending to be in space.
Fingers crossed that the weather continues to improve so that we can all be outside in our learning garden next week.
Have a lovely weekend
